Outreach

Lenten Program 2024: Food and Hygiene Drive for Orange County Rescue Mission

This Lent we are going to run a drive for food and hygiene items to support our neighbors in need in Tustin - the homeless families and individuals who have come to the OC Rescue Mission for help. From its humble beginnings in 1963, the Mission has grown to several campuses and provides not only food and clothing, but also housing, counseling, medical help, legal aid, and job training. As you can imagine, food and hygiene items are always needed, and this is where we come into the picture!

Your Outreach Committee is asking that you bring 3-4 items for each of the six Sundays in Lent, as we run this program from February 18th through Palm Sunday, March 24th. A list of the items needed is shown to the right. Please just these items, since the Mission knows what they need most.

Please place your donations on the table in the narthex, and for those online, please join us by putting your donations in the box provided in the Parish Office Mondays through Fridays, 9 am to 12:30 pm. If we all commit to bringing food and hygiene items each week as a Lenten discipline, St Mary’s will have a wonderful amount of much-needed items to donate to those who desperately need help.

Thank you so much, St Mary’s, for your faithful and generous hearts, in gratitude, St Mary’s Outreach Committee

The St. Mary’s Chapter of ECW is a great way for women in the St. Mary’s community to come together and to create fundraisers and activities that benefit local, national, and global causes. ECW welcomes women of all ages and from all walks of life to meet, connect, and participate! Meeting are held monthly. As an ECW member, you’ll have a chance to become a part of one of St. Mary’s most popular and long-standing groups.

Meetings are open to any woman in the St. Mary’s community, and carpools can be arranged for those who don’t drive. We welcome your ideas, creativity and presence as we move into 2022! For questions or for more information, please contact ECW chapter president, Linda Bratcher.

In the meantime, be sure to check the new ECW WEBSITE for upcoming ECW events and fundraisers. We hope to see you there!

"To provide women of St. Mary's Church the opportunity to come together for mutual support, fun, fellowship, spiritual growth and service to others."

ECW Prayer

Almighty God, bless we pray, our working mission and ministry in the world and make us so thankful for the precious gift to your beloved Son, that we may pray fervently, labor diligently and give liberally to make known throughout the world the redeeming love of our Savior. Amen.

The Cross represents Christ and our service to Him in the world. The Circle stands for our hope for wholeness in our lives. The out-flowing lines from the center depict the many works of the Episcopal Church Women, going out into the world.

The intertwined lines represent our lives centered in Christ.
