During Advent, 2015, St Mary’s contributed to Wounded Warriors Family Support, an excellent nonprofit which supports the combat-wounded veteran and his or her whole family. This holistic and very practical approach takes care of job training, teaching a new skill set so that employment may be found; caregiver respite, offering rest and renewal to caregivers, usually family members, so that they remain healthy; vehicle modification, which restores independence and allows the veteran greater mobility; and finally, family retreats, where immediate family members can relax together and renew their relationships.

St Mary’s loving kindness means that a check for $2,000 is on its way to WWFS at their Omaha, Nebraska, Headquarters, where it will be very much appreciated. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so generously to our veterans.

Thank you, too, to Gary Mangiofico, Pat August, Dick Swintek, Claudia Mellin and Mary Hill, for their kindness in helping with this Program.

Blessings and thanks,
Barbara van Gaasbeek
